Our client moved into a very fun
converted warehouse space in
SODO. Some of the problems they
mentioned were fumes from ongoing
construction in other parts of the
building and a noisier space than
they were used to. The space has
beautiful light throughout so we had
few limitations on plant types.
As a side note, while I was working on
these photos, I smelled some of the
same odors I had noticed in the clients
space. I thought what a strong
suggestive power these photos have.
Then I realized someone was painting
nearby with some very toxic smelling
stuff. Glad I have a lot of plants!
Leafy plants help soften the brick and
absorb noise and fumes.
Sansevierias were repeated down a hall of
work areas. They break up the wall and
don't get in the way.
Fiberglass planters in different shapes and
sizes were used throughout. Keeping the
planter color the same provided continuity.
Black "rocks" made from recycled plastic
finish off the project.
Having fun putting nature to work for our
clients!
